Walking from the Reception to the Spa you will pass under a massive oak tree, shown in this watercolour in autumn hue. The tree dominates so much of the views around the Manor House and the gate tells its own story – perhaps a topic for research.
When you walk through the gate, pause to look up into the oak. It has a large cavity in the trunk. I wonder how old this tree is.
