Manor House in Winter #3 [SOLD]

The large oak in the Manor House garden dominates the route between the Reception and the Spa. This is most apparent in Winter. The branches stand out against the sky, framing Botmaskop and the Manor House.
Each species of tree has a particular shape in the main branches and orientation of the twigs as the new growth reaches for the light.

I painted this during my 2024/2025 exhibition in the White Wine Cellar at Lanzerac Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. Working on a watercolour at the doorway to the cellar attracted visitors to see the work.
