Lourens River Gabion Island

There is an island on the Lourens River just below the Bridge on Andries Pretorius.   The island has been stabilised by a gabion wall.  It is a pleasant place to sit and watch the river.  And I suppose it is prime real-estate in our town.  A community set up camp on this lovely space.  This painting was done after a storm and the inhabitants were hanging out their bedding to dry.
