Vergelegen Manor House #2
The manor house on Vergelegen estate is set amongst massive Camphor Trees which I think were planted by the first govenor of the Cape – Simon Van Der Stel. This large specimen grows inside the walled garden behind the manor house. The great gnarled stump and fluted roots call out the age and tough history of the tree.
